Summer Fruiting Red Raspberries

Boyne

An early mid-season variety with excellent hardiness and excellent productivity. The canes are spiny, medium in height with strong suckering. Berries are small, dark red, with good firmness and good flavour. Acidic fruit with good cohesion, excellent for freezing.


Encore

A late-season variety with excellent hardiness and good productivity. The canes are medium tall with very few spines. The fruit is average size with good firmness, medium red color and very good taste. Interesting for the quality of its fruit.


Festival

A mid-late season variety with excellent hardiness and excellent productivity. The canes are spineless, medium in height with good suckering. Raspberries are large, medium red with excellent firmness and good flavour. The variety is susceptible to orange rust with low vigour in sandy soils.

Gatineau

An early variety with very good hardiness and good productivity. The canes are spiny, medium in height with strong suckering. Fruit is medium in size, dark red, with good firmness and good flavour. Susceptible to anthracnose.



Killarney

A mid-season variety with excellent hardiness and excellent productivity. The canes are spiny, tall with strong suckering. Raspberries are small, medium to light red, with good firmness and good flavour. Very popular variety for fresh market and freezing.


K81-6

A late-season variety with good hardiness and excellent productivity. The canes are tall, relatively spiny with strong suckering. The fruit is bigger than most with average firmness, good flavor and medium red color. Interesting variety for bigger sized fruit.

Killarney


Madawaska

An early variety with very good hardiness and very good productivity. The canes are relatively spiny, tall with strong suckering. Raspberries are large, dark red, with average firmness and good flavour. Interesting for the fresh market and freezing.


Nova

A mid-late season variety with very good hardiness and very good productivity. The canes are very tall with little spines and good suckering. Raspberries are large, medium red with excellent firmness and good flavour. Resembles Festival but with more vigour and resistance to orange rust.

Madawaska Nova

Titan

An early mid-season variety with fair hardiness and fair productivity. The canes are very tall with little spines and fair suckering. Raspberries are very large, medium red with excellent firmness and good flavour. The variety is susceptible to phytophtora root rot; must be planted in very light soils with excellent drainage.


Tulameen

A late-season variety with average hardiness and good productivity. The canes are medium tall and not very spiny. The fruit is big in size with good firmness, light red color and very good taste.

Fall Fruiting Red Raspberries

Autumn Bliss Brevetée

A productive variety with tall canes and good suckering. Raspberries are large, medium red with fair firmness and good flavour. Fruits 7 to 10 days earlier than Heritage.


Autumn Britten Brevetée

A very productive fall fruiting variety with average height canes and average suckering. Fruit is very big, very firm and good flavor and of medium red color. Very interesting variety for the size of fruit.



Heritage

A productive variety with near spineless canes, medium in height with good suckering. Raspberries are medium in size, medium to dark red with excellent firmness and good flavour. For a summer crop, cut back canes partly after fall fruiting.


Pathfinder

A very productive variety with relatively short, spiny canes with very good suckering. Fruit is medium to large with very good firmness, medium red colour and good flavour. The only fall fruiting variety which fruits throughout August.


Polana Brevetée

Fall fruiting variety with average height canes. Fruit is average size, good firmness, bright red colour and good flavour. Harvest is about ten days earlier than Heritage. Double fruit occurs.

Late season variety with good hardiness and very good productivity. Canes are very tall with little spines and fair suckering. Fruits are very large with very good firmness and acidic. Large purple fruit, excellent for freezing.


Royalty

Late season variety with good hardiness and very good productivity. Canes are tall with little spines and fair suckering. Fruits are very large with very good firmness and good flavour. Large purple fruit, less acidic than Brandywine.



Black Raspberries

Bristol

Mid-early variety with fair hardiness and good productivity. Canes are tall, spiny with very good suckering. Raspberries are large with excellent firmness and excellent flavour.


Jewel

Mid-early variety with good hardiness and very good productivity. Canes are medium in height, spiny with good suckering. Raspberries are large with excellent firmness and excellent flavour. Resistant to anthracnose.


Yellow Raspberries

Anne

Very productive variety with good hardiness. Fruit is very big, light yellow color and excellent flavor. Summer variety if canes are pruned in the fall or a fall fruiting variety if mowed down in the fall.

Kiwi Gold

Fall fruiting variety with good hardiness and good productivity. The fruit is large, firm, yellow-gold in colour with an excellent flavour. The canes are of medium height and spiny.
